Sports News:

**The Dux faced off with the Eagles of Hudsonville Riley on Thursday and lost a tough match by the score of 1-5 1/2.  The less-than-warm temperatures prevented the Dux from heating up but we still played well across the board.  Winning matches for Creekside were the doubles teams of Anna DeVries/Jadyn Keatley, Kara Bartels/Tessa Rindfliesch, and Hannah You/Anna DeVries.  The girls had a great season and coach Roskamp was so happy with the progress they made at each match!
** The 8th grade volleyball team fell short on their last game of the season with scores of 14-25, 25-20 and 15-12 It was a VERY close battle for their last time playing as a Creekside dux!  Every player played their hardest on the court and it has been a GREAT season!

Sports News:

** Thanks to some pre-game team karaoke, the 8th-grade volleyball team came pumped and ready to take on Byron Center! Unfortunately, it was not enough to conquer the Bulldogs. The girls should still be proud of how aggressive and intense they played. Lindsay Houle had two great attacks and Karli VandenBerg had an ace. Way to go ladies on playing hard during your last time on the Creekside volleyball court!

Tending goal for the Dux was Jacob Schultz and Max Settlemyer. Special shout out to Carson Hauch for wearing man tights the entire time…wow!

**The 8th grade boys soccer team lost a hard fought battle against a physically strong and fast Grandville team Thursday night, 2-4. Playing into the teeth of the wind and a stout Grandville defense, the Dux found themselves down 0-3 at the end of the first half. However, the Dux would make it exciting as they scored 2 goals in a span of 3 minutes to bring the score 2-3. Diego Mendoza had both of the goals as he lofted two beautifully shaped shots up and over the keepers head. The second goal was set up by a fantastic one touch pass from Nolan Church at the top of the penalty box. The Dux comeback would fall short as Grandville added an insurance goal in the last 5 minutes. Great game boys!
**The 7th grade girls volleyball team beat West Ottawa Thursday night in some intense volleyball. Abby Nash led the team in serving with Alexa Brott, Emily Overway and Kendyl Chupailo chipped in some ace serves. Kinzlee Merryman, Isabel Assink and Kendyl Chupailo had some great kills at the net. Great job improving and being a force on the court!

**The 8th grade girls volleyball team fell short against West Ottawa Thurs. night with  scores of 25-15, 25-22 and 15-7. In the second set, the girls did well with being aggressive and going for every ball! Reese Geurink and Carly Sleeman both had a big block in the front row!

Sports Results:
**   The girls played an incredible match Thursday despite facing a day of monsoon rains and desert heat.   The Dux faced off with the Hamilton and took down the Hawkeyes by a score of  5 to 1 1/2.  The girls consistently hit tough shots and hustled in the heat which is easier said than done. Winning matches for Creekside were Hannah You, Kara Bartels, Anna DeVries/JadynKeatleyAlaina Erdman/Stacey Dykens, Caitlin Aguilar/Marissa Brower, and Seneca Wallenburg.

** The boys 8th grade soccer team overcame the heat and the humidity on Thursday in beating the Hawkeyes of Hamilton, 2-0 . After a scoreless half, the Dux scored one goal in the third quarter and another in the fourth to remain unbeaten on the season. Andrew Edwards scored the first goal after Sammy Salas beat several defenders in getting to the endline. Salas’ cross lofted over the keepers outstretched arms and into the path of Edwards, who half-volleyed it into the back of the net.

Salas earned a goal of his own after receiving a ball from Diego Mendoza just outside the penalty box. Salas slotted the ball past the keeper, diving to his right.
A staunch defensive effort by the Dux limited the Hawkeyes to just a single shot on goal off of an indirect kick. Tyler Dykstra earned the shutout, while the Dux midfield (Virgil Keomoungkhoune, Austin Mansaray, Andrew Edwards, Joey DeWeerd, and Carter Hughes) controlled the game from the start. The Dux are 5-0-1 on the season, and play Grand Haven next week Tuesday. way to go boys!

Sports Results:
** Monday, the 7th grade Dux soccer club jumped all over the bulldogs of Byron Center beating them 8-0. Solid passing and control of the ball gave the Dux ample scoring opportunities. Goals came of the foot of Trigve Elkins, Landon Demint, Ben Keuning, Jacob Schultz and Micha Henry with his second hat trick of the year. Posting the shut out in goal for the Dux was Jacob Schultz and Max Settlemyer. Great job boys.

** The 8th grade boys soccer team tied Byron Center Monday night, 1-1 in hot and muggy conditions. The Dux jumped out to an early 1-0 lead when Josh Overzet centered a ball to Sammy Salas, who buried his shot from near the penalty spot less than 10 minutes into the game. Byron Center would equalize in the 3rd period off of a breakaway.

Despite dominating possession and generating multiple chances, the Byron Center defense held, and the Dux could not find the back of the net.
