** Creekside, are you interested in participating in the LINKS program next year either at Creekside or the high school? If you are interested, you may fill out an application to participate in this peer to peer support program.  Applications for the middle school and high school program may be picked up from Ms. Wojcik in the Autism classroom which is located next to the art room.  Ms. Wojcik will also answer any questions you may have.  Applications are due on Thursday, May 31.
**Students–If you or your parents did not receive an e-mail with an invitation to the 8th grade Celebration June 6, 2018, please stop in the office to get a copy.
Found–Bracelet with “besties” written on it.  Claim in the office.

In the Crab Soccer Creekside World Championship, the Raptors took on the Rastafarian Kings.  The Rastafarian Kings started off with a quick 2- 0 lead.  The Raptors responded with a goal.  In the end the Rastafarian Kings were too much for the Raptors, beating them by a score of 5-2.  Congratulations our winners and thanks to all for a great season!

Next Year’s Sports for 6/7/8th graders
You can now sign up for next year’s sports on-line at Final Forms–2018-19.  An information sheet on how to use Final Forms is in the office sports rack.   Sport physicals need to be dropped off at the Creekside office.
Football information sheets are in the sports rack in the office for 2017/18 .  Also, sign up for 7/8th grade football camp this summer is in the office as well as published on the zeelandwestathletics.com web site under “fall”.  Football sign up is on Final Forms.

** Students there will be a summer science camp in July for all 6, 7, 8th grades.  Sign up at Zeeland Rec or online.  Students will be working and developing a hands on project.  Come out for a week of fun and discovery!

** Students should not be storing any personal items in the break out rooms , lunch room or hallways.  All items should be kept in your locker at all times. Items found in these areas will be confiscated. Keeping items in these areas results in a safety hazard!!!  Lets help keep our school a positive learning environment.
**Reminder: Students when you call home from any phone in school, please leave a message if your parent doesn’t answer. When you don’t and your parent calls school back we have no idea that you called, or what you need.  Please, please help us out and LEAVE A MESSAGE! Thank you the Office Ladies!

**Parents of 8th graders should have received an invitation in your e-mail to the 8th Grade Celebration that will be held on Wednesday, June 6, @ 7 pm in the DeWitt Auditorium @ ZEHS.  If you did not receive the invitation, have your 8th grade student pick up an invitation in the office.

**Homework Party will be after school Monday thru Thursday from 2:30 – 3:30.
**Take Note….Creekside open it’s doors to students at 7:05am.. After school students not with a teacher or coach, need to EXIT the building by 3:00pm
**Non-School Lunch Items:  Outside food is only allowed in the lunchroom if you are bringing lunch for your student ONLY.
 The office conference rooms are no longer available for groups lunches with friends.


Sports Results:

Yesterday, your 7th grade Lady DUX soccer team took on Grandville.  Your DUX played strong and dominated much of the game, but could not find the back of the net resulting in a 3-0 loss.  Your Lady DUX played one of the best games of their season!  We are proud of you ladies!

**6th Grade Crab Soccer  Games – will begin promptly at 12:20pm!!! :
It was a wild playoff game yesterday in crab soccer!  The Wreakers took an early 2-0 lead on the Rastafarian Kings.  Then the Rastafarian Kings went on a scoring spree to end the game with a 6-2 victory!
 In the finals today (Friday), it will be the Raptors vs. the Rastafarian Kings!
Reminder!  If you are not on one of the teams scheduled for the game, you ARE NOT ALLOWED TO PLAY, only to spectate!  
** The last day for outgoing iPad repairs is TODAY May 18th.  Any outgoing repairs need to be turned in to Mrs. Meeuwesen in the Media Center by noon.

** The annual Spring Dance Concert presented by the high school dance program is this weekend.  The middle school dancers are featured in the matinee on Saturday.  Come out and support the dancers at 12 pm on Saturday May 19.  Tickets are available at the door 45 minutes before the show begins.  The middle school dancers from both Cityside and Creekside are in a wide variety of dances including hip hop, musical theater, jazz, contemporary, and a combined finale dance.  The high school dance ensemble will also perform at this show.  It will be an afternoon of dance that you won’t want to miss!

Sports Results:

** The Boys tennis team lost a tough match to WO White Weds. by a score of 0-7.  The boys had some very close matches but just came up a little short.  The boys have the their last match next Wednesday at home vs. Holland.

** Creekside MS Club softball won 2 very well played games Wednesday evening.  The first game was a 9-6 win with Emily Brands taking the win in the circle.  Game #2 was a come from behind win with the DUX scoring 3 runs in the last inning to win 6-5 and Alexa Brott pitched the team to victory.  Carly Sleeman had a hot bat going 5-5 in the two games with a triple, double and 3 singles.  Taylor Zwagerman added a triple, double and a single, and Avery Vugteveen, Kadrian Niefert, Paige Winkler and Emily Brands all contributed a single.  Defensively, Kairi Beckwith played a fantastic outfield for the DUX.

In a heated game yesterday, the Mighty Janitors took on the Raptors.  With a little controversy, the game was tied 2-2 with the next goal to win.  The Raptors capitalized and scored the winning goal, sending them to the finals.

Sports Results:

**Tuesday, your 7th grade Lady DUX soccer team took on a very strong Harbor Lights team.  Although your Lady DUX hung with them most of the game they were unable to get the win.  The final score was Harbor Lights 6, DUX 3.  Scoring for your DUX were Samarah Arendsen with a pair of goals and Isabella Cifuentes with one.  Great effort ladies!
**The 8th grade girls soccer team posted their second win of the season Tuesday night defeating West Ottawa 2-1 in a thrilling second half comeback. Lauren Broersma scored both goals for the lady Dux on beautiful play combinations from teammates Izzy Shoenenberg and Grace Oren. Strong defense from Cassidy Wiersma and Mel Guinn and tough goal keeping from Baily Forner and Claira Kraft kept the Panthers at bay. Way to go Ladies!

**With warmer weather approaching, please follow the dress code guidelines which include shorts being at or below fingertip length, tank top straps must be approximately 2″inches, no undergarments showing, no muscle shirts or revealing clothing. Rips in jeans that reveal skin must be at or below fingertips.

** Creekside, are you interested in participating in the LINKS program next year either at Creekside or the high school? If you are interested, you may fill out an application to participate in this peer to peer support program.  Applications for the middle school and high school program may be picked up from Ms. Wojcik in the Autism classroom which is located next to the art room.  Ms. Wojcik will also answer any questions you may have.  Applications are due on Thursday, May 31.

** The annual Spring Dance Concert presented by the high school dance program is this weekend.  The middle school dancers are featured in the matinee on Saturday.  Come out and support the dancers at 12 pm on Saturday May 19.  Tickets are available at the door 45 minutes before the show begins.  The middle school dancers from both Cityside and Creekside are in a wide variety of dances including hip hop, musical theater, jazz, contemporary, and a combined finale dance.  The high school dance ensemble will also perform at this show.  It will be an afternoon of dance that you won’t want to miss!

Sports Results:

** The middle school boy’s tennis team took on Holland Christian and played a great match.  The score was tie and Creekside won it with the last match to finish up by a score of 3 1/2 to 3.  Winning matches for Creekside were:

** Your 7th grade Lady DUX soccer team took on the Buccaneers of Grand Haven. First to find the back of the net was Morgan Selles who deflected one off a defender.  Later, Lexi Kemper knocked one in off a cross from Isabella Cifuentes to give your DUX a 2-0 victory.  Scoring the shutout in goal was Jadyn Keatly.  Also playing a great game and taking shots on the Buc goalkeeper were Samarah Arendsen, Emma Boersma, Kayla Bosch, Haley Pawlowski, Samantha VanDort.  Way to go Lady DUX!!
